Explore a career in the Armed Forces

The Military Preparation College is a unique training college that helps 16+ year olds develop their fitness, vocational qualifications, and employability skills to help prepare for employment, including rewarding careers in the British Armed Forces.

At the college, students follow a weekly routine of activities and curriculum. This includes vocational and skills training, physical training, military training days, and assessments.

The curriculum has been designed to develop students' physical fitness, essential skills, and self-confidence. The academy operates a ‘roll on, roll off’ joining process with no set application deadlines, allowing new recruits to join on a weekly basis.

The training is free, while some people may be eligible for a training bursary or allowance.

Are you a parent or carer whose young person is contemplating a career in the armed forces? Listen to the views of parents of young people who have been through The Military Academy.
