Empowering the next generation: BNU at the Bucks Skills Show 2026

The Bucks Skills Show would not be the life-changing event that it is without the support of our vital partners and sponsors.

With the big event approaching - and free tickets available for the evening event on March 4th - we spoke to Buckinghamshire New University, our Bucks Skills Show Partner, to hear what it means to them to support the event.

About Buckinghamshire New University

Who are we?

Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) is delighted to return as a sponsor for the Bucks Skills Show at Stoke Mandeville Stadium on 4th-5th March. Dedicated to transforming lives through employment-focused education, we are proud to inspire the next generation of changemakers!

For over 130 years, BNU has been a cornerstone of the local community. Our High Wycombe, Uxbridge, and Aylesbury campuses equip students with the career-ready skills to appeal to employers in today’s competitive market, offering diverse, practice-based courses designed to make students work-ready and meet modern employer needs.

Why partnering with the Bucks Skills Show matters

Every student, regardless of their background, deserves access to high-quality career insight. By supporting this event, we showcase our broad course range and bridge the gap between the classroom and a fulfilling career, ensuring local talent thrives within our regional economy.

What to expect from the BNU stands

This year, we cannot wait to have real conversations with students - as well as career leaders, teachers and parents - sharing our available opportunities, learning about their interests and ambitions, and supporting them in making the right choices for their future.

To enable us to do this, visitors can look forward to:

  • Immersive activities: We believe in learning by doing - such as clinical simulations and gaming tech.

  • Hands-on challenges: Test your skills with interactive sessions designed by our academics.

  • Expert insights: Discuss degree pathways, show off student portfolios, and learn how our courses translate into real-world careers.

Top tips for students on making the most of the Skills Show

To get the most out of your visit:

  1. Be curious: We love talking to inquisitive students about how a degree translates into a real-world job. Speak to as many people as you can to see what your future could look like!

  2. Ask us questions: Don’t be shy - ask us as many questions as you can!

  3. Think outside the box: There is more to university than just the classroom - you can forge lifelong friendships, build confidence and gain new skills. BNU offers so much enrichment – ask us about it, including our unique The Big Deal offering free access to amazing moments.

Opportunities for lifelong learning

Education has no expiry date - and at BNU, we pride ourselves on being a community that welcomes mature learners with open arms. Whether you are looking to pivot careers, upskill for a promotion or return to education after a break, we offer a supportive environment tailored to your needs. We offer flexible study options and comprehensive support systems to help you confidently re-enter the classroom. It is never too late to redefine your future!

Join us in September 2026

While we are excited to meet younger students, we also have a key message for those nearing the end of their current studies: Applications for September 2026 are still open! It’s not too late to join our vibrant community this autumn.

We can’t wait to see you at Stoke Mandeville Stadium!
